Lee leads S3 with four goals and three helpers

Section Five ran into a steamroller when they faced Section Three at the SCT Saturday morning in Waupun, and came out on the short end of a 12-4 tally.

S3 got off to a 3-0 lead in the first 14 minutes of the first on goals by Kyle Lee, Zach Comfort, and Colin Helke.

With just under two minutes left, Payton Trammel cut the lead to 3-1, but that was as close as S5 would get.

Helke scored early in the second for Section Three, and then Lee notched his second to stretch the lead to 5-1. A minute later, Jay Routheau scored for Five to make it 5-2.

Then S3 struck for a trio of goals when Jared Sprink, Jared Wurster, and Bryce Hladovcak scored in a span of less than two minutes late in the period to extend the lead to 8-2.

Routheau scored with just eight seconds left in the period to cut the lead to 8-3. Shots favored S3, 17-12.

Max Seiter scored just over a minute into the third period to make it 9-3 and the score stayed there until late in the period.

Lee scored with just under three minutes left to make it 10-3.

Routheau finished his hat trick with a goal with 1:15 left, and then Lee and Hladovcak added two more in the last minute or so to cap the scoring.

Once again, S3 held the shot edge, 14-7.
