Rice Lake forward Kody Novinska was named American Family Insurance/WHCA Player of the Year at the POTY/state tournament banquet held Wednesday evening at the Sheraton Madison Hotel.

Novinska set the Rice Lake career scoring record this year--formerly held for thirty years by Todd Geisness--by tallying 69 points (29g-40a), giving him a four-year total of 228 points (103g-125a).
