GRAND CHUTE - Another day and another win for the Fox Cities Stars (7-0) as their flawless start to the 2025-26 Hockey season continues. At this point, it doesn’t matter who stands in front of the Stars' way as they tend to score early and often to take care of their business on the ice. Saturday was another classic case of that as the Stars welcomed the West Bend Ice Bears (2-4) to the Champions Center on Saturday for another Non Conference tilt.
As has been the case more often than not this season, the Stars not only scored early but also often, as their relentless offense opened a 7-0 lead after two periods before closing things out 9-1 over West Bend. Elliott Reichenbacher was near perfect in goal, stopping 28 of the 29 shots he faced, while Parker Janssen picked up the second Hat Trick in as many games for the Stars to pace the offense.
It took a little bit for the Stars' offense to get rolling, half the first period to be exact, but after Janssen put the Stars in front 1-0 at the 8:33 mark in the first period, there was no turning back. Quinn Murphy and Blayke Adamovich tacked on two more goals late in the first period as the Stars raced out to a 3-0 lead after one. Unlike the first period, where it took a while for the Stars to get rolling, the second period saw the Stars' offense come out firing as they opened the period with three goals in the first three minutes to extend their lead to 6-0.
Nathan Muller was responsible for the first of those goals just 23 seconds in, with Cale Adamovich tacking on a second goal just past the one-minute mark to push the lead to 5-0. That was enough for Sean Cartwright in goal as West Bend pulled him just past the one-minute mark in the second period, as RJ Katsma took over from there. Not even a minute later, it was the Stars extending their lead to 6-0 as they greeted Katsma with a goal on his first shot attempt, with Jack Blair coming up with an unassisted goal as it was all Stars at this point.
Fox Cities saw their offense stall a bit after that two-minute barrage to open the period, but with Jake Koller adding a goal just past the 10-minute mark, Fox Cities opened a 7-0 lead that they carried into the third period. Already with the game well in hand, no one would’ve faulted the Stars for letting off the gas a bit to give some of their main contributors a break on the ice.
That isn’t in the team's DNA at this moment in time as the Stars continued to keep the pressure on Katsma and the Ice Bears' defense, adding two more goals within 30 seconds of each other. It may taken until the midway point in the third for that to happen, but it was Janssen capping off his three-goal night with both of those goals as the Stars pushed their lead to 9-0. West Bend did manage to put an end to the shutout late in the third as the Roland Duncan Power Play goal with under a minute to go was the lone blemish for the Stars as they keep their unbeaten start to the season going with a commanding 9-1 win.
Next up for the Stars is a road game on Tuesday against Badgerland Rival Waupun, before taking on De Pere at home Friday to close out the first half of their schedule.
