Dear Wisconsin Prep Hockey community,

We’ve always strived to provide high-quality content, accurate statistics, and a platform that celebrates the spirit of high school hockey in Wisconsin. As the official stats provider for WIAA girls' and boys' high school hockey, we take great pride in offering a trusted resource for players, coaches, and fans alike.

Recently, we’ve encountered a significant shift that has impacted our ability to maintain the site’s user experience. After one of our ad providers, Underdog Media, was purchased by Advertising.com, the ads on our site became visually overwhelming and intrusive. These ads are now detracting from the content that you come to our site for, and that’s something we can no longer accept.

We’ve decided to make a bold move.

For the remainder of 2025, we will be turning off all of the pop-up and overlay ads on Wisconsin Prep Hockey. We want to return to a clean, distraction-free experience, where our focus can remain entirely on the game and the players. However, running this site still requires resources. The ads, while intrusive, have provided us with money to help cover operational costs and the time spent maintaining the site.

So here’s the deal: we’re asking our community for your support. Our goal is to raise $8,500 in donations by the end of 2025. If we reach this goal, we’ll be able to continue offering a pop-up and intrusive ad-free experience for the foreseeable future. If we don’t meet our goal, unfortunately, we will have to bring more ads back in 2026 to sustain the site.

We want to note that while we’ve asked for donations in the past, it has been more than 8 years since we last made such a request. This decision wasn’t made lightly, but the changes to our site have left us with no choice but to turn to you, our dedicated community, for help.

We know this is a big ask, but we believe that with your help, we can continue to grow and improve Wisconsin Prep Hockey. Whether it’s a one-time donation or a small monthly contribution, every little bit counts. Your support will help us maintain the site, improve our coverage, and continue serving the high school hockey community.

We’re committed to being transparent with you every step of the way. We’ll keep you updated on our progress, and we’re hopeful that together, we can keep the heart of Wisconsin hockey thriving without the intrusive ads.
