MIDDLETON – The Bay Area Ice Bears entered the WIAA girls state hockey title game Saturday considered the best team in the state.
They left here leaving no doubt about it.
The Ice Bears are state champions after an 8-0 win over Central Wisconsin at the Bob Suter’s Legacy20 Arena, winning their second state title in three years and the third in program history.
Bay Area (27-1) never lost to a team from the state this season, its only defeat coming to Blake (Minnesota).
