Big Third Period Carries Bluebirds Past Fondy Cards.

MacDougall Stops 26 In Win.

  The Fondy Cards made the 2 hour drive to Janesville for a nonconference matchup with the Janesville Bluebirds Tuesday night. The drive back was gonna be a a little longer after Janesville used a big third period to get a 5-1 win.

   The first period was penalty filled but Janesville struck first with a goal by Dan Addie. Assisting on the goal was Tanner Woodman , the first of his four assists.

   Fondy tied the game in the second. Off a faceoff a shot came to Janesville goalie Michael MacDougall. The puck popped off his glove while he was trying to cover it and Fondys Rex Whealon slid it around the sprawled goalie for a 1-1 tie.

   Janesville regained the lead again. 36 seconds later Ethan Eno put back a rebound shot for a 2-1 lead after 2 periods.

   The Cardinals came out in the third with a flurry, and with  Janesville's best dman off the ice for 12 minutes things were looking good. But the Bluebirds scored 3 goals in a 5;24 span to pull away including goals by Brett Lessner, Mike Money and Ethan Eno's second goal of the game. Fondy Goalie Charlie Blagoue made 17 stops in the 5-1 loss.  Both teams have 2 more games this week. Fondy hosts Wisconsin Rapids Thursday, while Janesville hosts Sun Prairie.  Fond Du Lacs record falls to 6-13, while Janesville improves to 11-7-1
