Inside hockey: Novinska sets scoring standard

For 30 years, Todd Geisness' name sat atop Rice Lake's leaderboard as the program's all-time points leader, a name synonymous with scoring in the Warriors hockey community.

Now, the torch has been passed to Kody Novinska.

A school record four years in the making, Novinska overtook Geisness as the program's all-time scoring leader Tuesday with a seven-point showing in an 11-0 victory over Eau Claire North at Rice Lake Hockey Arena. With seven assists in the contest, the senior's career total now stands at 218 points, three more than the 215-point standard set by Geisness in 1982.
