Wisconsin HP-18 beat Colorado 7-2 on Saturday. Wisconsin completely dominated the game. The third period was run-time because Wisconsin was up 7-0 after the second period.

Colorado got the first shot of the game, however that’s about the only success they had until the final minutes of the game when they finally scored. But the game was over by then. Wisconsin controlled the puck, skated faster, and passed with more precision. And when Colorado attempted to get physical, Wisconsin was the bigger, stronger team.

Wisconsin scored two goals in the first period and outshot Colorado 14-4. Below are quotes from Wisconsin’s first period goal scorers.

  • “I got a great pass from Wyatt Herres from the blueline, we were on the power play, the goalie wasn’t set, and I roofed it over his shoulder.” Gabe Braun.
  • “My linemates made great passes. I got a great pass, then I ripped a shot past the goalie low on his glove side.” Bjorn Bahneman.

Wisconsin pummeled Colorado in the second period by outshooting them 18-3 and scored five goals. Below are quotes from Wisconsin’s second period goal scorers.

  • “We had a great shift. It ended with a great pass from Austin Lamer, and I one timed it glove side low.” Cooper Simon.
  • “The puck went from low to high and then my D Wyatt (Herres) shot the puck, and I tipped it from the high slot through traffic.” Bjorn Bahneman.
  • “It was a simple play really. I took the puck off the boards and went to the net, I beat their D, and drove to the far post and scored.” Jackson Schroeder.
  • “The puck was low, and Easton Lindert battled for the puck, I slipped to a soft spot and shot top left through a screen. Austin Lamer.
  • “I saw no one was out front so I took the puck and drove the net far post and pulled the puck to my backhand and scored. Adam Sexton.

With the victory over Colorado, Wisconsin HP-18 play Sunday, April 28 at 8:15AM vs. Michigan Juniors.
