Hat trick and shut-out key in Showdown win

Daniel Litchke scored three times--including two highlight reel scores--and Scott Crawford stopped 37 shots to earn a shut-out as Superior skated past Wausau West 5-0 Sunday afternoon in the Showdown in Titletown.

Superior had a 1-0 lead in the first, thanks to Steven Mikel's goal from the slot.

Litchke scored in the second when he got behind the West defense and moved in on West goalie Sam Wiegert. Kyle Lee was all over Litchke, who still managed to get off a shot. The rebound dropped in front of him and he shelfed it over the goalie to make it 2-0 at the 3:27 mark of the second.

Tyler Nystrom scored on a spinning rebound shot to stretch the lead to 3-0 just 1:15 later.

Litchke scored twice in the final period, including a shot where he was knocked down, got up, and was knocked down again, all while handling the puck. His shelfer from the slot made it 5-0. The power play goal came at 14:56.

Crawford was perfect in stopping 37 shots (11-15-11), while Wiegert had 26 saves for West.
