The Wisconsin Elite Hockey League Girls 18U South East team traveled to West Chester, PA, to represent Wisconsin at the 2024 USA Hockey High School Girls tournament.

Despite being outshot 41-15 in their opener on Wednesday, the girls came away with a 2-1 victory.

They trailed 1-0 after two periods, being outshot 29-7, but they turned things up in the third period and narrowed the shot margin to 12-8 in the period and netted goals by Myleigh Leannah (Lakeshore), and Amelia Altmann (Arrowhead) to take the win. Alani Walls (Lakeshore) had a stellar 40 saves in the win.

Outshot again in their second game, this time the WEHL girls weren't able to pull out the win, falling 8-1 to St Mary's Rams out of California.

Laura Dykema (Lakeshore) had the lone goal for the girls from Wisconsin. Ava Baugnet stopped 36 of 44 shots in the loss.

The girls notched their second win on Friday afternoon with a 2-1 victory over Bay Reps (MI), finally outshooting their opponent. The WEHL girls led in shots 39-13.

Abigail Kalbechek (Lakeshore) scored in the first period for the WEHL team. Bay Reps scored in the second to even it up, and Amelia Altmann (Arrowhead) netted the game-winner with just 39 seconds left in regulation.

Ava Baugnet (Brookfield) and Alani Walls (Lakeshore) split the game, each playing 25 minutes and change. Baugnet stopped all 9 shots she faced. Walls stopped 3 of 4.

The team finished 2-1 in pool play, but their goal differential of -5 left them as the 4th seed in the National Division behind St Mary's Rams (CA) at 3-0 (+17), Team Texas (TX) at 2-1 (+6) and ICSHL (PA) at 2-1 (+1), so they will face the 1st seed from the American Division in the opening playoff round.
