The USA Hockey Central District Tier 1 and 2 Tournaments are underway in West Des Moines, IA, Fond du Lac, WI, and Urbandale, IA this weekend and 8 Wisconsin pre/post teams are in attendance. 

WEHL Western 16U (2-1)

The WEHL Western 16U team opened their tournament with a 3-0 win over the Omaha Lady Lancers. Lily Mittl (St Croix Valley), Taylor Larson (Western Wisconsin), and Marley Larson (Hudson) had goals for the WEHL team. Evelyn Pritzl (Eau Claire Area) stopped all 26 shots she faced in the win.

The WEHL Western girls followed that up with 5-0 win over the Chesterfield Lady Falcons, outshooting them 46-12. The WEHL team had goals from Ava Stow (Eau Claire Area), Lily Mittl, and Taylor Larson (3). Kate Sustafson (St Croix Valley) stopped all 12 shots she faced in the win.

In their final game of the tournament, WEHL Western 16U fell to the Glenview Stars 3-1. Lily Mittl tallied her 3rd goal of the tournament, but it wasn't enough for the win. Evelyn Pritzl and Katelyn Gustafson split the game in net for the WEHL team after each getting a start in the first two games. Pritzl gave up the first goal, and Gustafson the next two in the 3-1 loss. Gleview outshot the WEHL team 30-14.

With six points the WEHL Western 16U team took second, behind Glenview (9) and head of Omaha (3) and Chesterfield (0).

Wisconsin Selects 19U (2-0)

The Selects opened their Tier 2 tournament with a 12-1 win over the St Louis Lady Cyclones, outshooting them 56-11. The selects had goals by Rhylee Buesgen (Chippewa Falls/Menomonie), Reese Sheehan (Hayward co-op), Addisyn Buesgen (2, Chippewa Falls/Menomonie), Gabi Heuser (Central Wisconsin), Julia Purintun, Kayla Dogs (Warbirds), Adelyn Milota, Mallory Schmidt (Northland Pines co-op), and Zowie Hunter (Black River Falls co-op). The official scoresheet says that Sydney Magnuson (Black River Falls co-op) had 10 saves in the win, however, we have been told that Greta Woelber (Hayward co-op) actually played in net this game.

After trouncing the Cyclones in their first game, it was a much closer match for the 19U Wisconsin Selects girls in their second game, defeating the Glenview Stars 1-0, and outshooting them 36-23. Addison Gruhlke (Eau Claire Area) had the lone tally for the Selects, and Sydney Magnuson stopped all 23 shots she faced in the win.

The Selects finished their tournament 2-0 with 6 points, ahead of Glenview (3) and the Cyclones (0), to advance to Tier II nationals in East Lansing Michigan, April 3-7.

Team Wisconsin Girls 16U (1-1)

Team Wisconsin beat the St Louis Lady Blues 4-2 to open their tournament, outshooting them 30-13. Adalyn Benson (Superior), Isabella Hamel (Arrowhead co-op), Juliana Cahoon (Hudson), and Ava McDonald (Bay Area) scored for TW. Macy Blooming (Brookfield co-op) stopped 11 of 13 in the win.

The TW 16U Girls team finished their tournament with a 2-1 loss to the Chicago Mission, being outshot 34-19. Briana Anundsen (Bay Area) had the lone goal for TW. Ilsa Brunner (Central Wisconsin) stopped 32 of 34 shots in the loss for TW.

TW finishes 1-1 with 3 points. Behind the Mission (2-0, 5 points), and ahead of the Lady Blues (0-2, 1 point).

Team Wisconsin Girls 19U (1-1)

Team Wisconsin's top girls team also beat the St Louis Lady Blues to open their tournament, this one was 4-1, outshooting them 33-9. Kendy Sundby (2, St Croix Valley), Makaela Reinke (Superior) and Autumn Cooper (Superior) scored for TW. Molly Jex (USM co-op) stopped 8 of 9 in the win.

The TW 19U Girls finished their tournament with a 4-1 loss to the Chicago Mission, being outshot 35-27. Charlotte Fetherston (USM co-op) had the lone goal for TW. Catterina Donna stopped 31 of 35 shots in the loss for TW.

The 19U girls finished their tournament 1-1 with 3 points, behind the Mission (2-0, 6 points), and head of the Lady Blues (0-2, 0 points).

Tier 1 Boys

Team Wisconsin Boys 13O (2-1)

The youngest of the Teams Wisconsin, opened their tournament with a 4-2 win over the St Louis Jr Blues. The Blues led the shot total 33-28. Reece Parsons, Carson Schroeder, and Thomas Tripp Wroblewski (2) netted goals for TW. Ty Schmitz stopped 31 of 33 in the win.

They followed the win with a 3-1 loss to the Reapers, the Illinois representative in the 13O tournament. Boden Wager scored for TW in the loss. Schmitz stopped 36 of 39 in the loss.

The 13O boys followed that win with a 8-1 win over the Omaha Lancers, outshooting them 21-13. TW had goals from Matthew Cook, Peyton Huls, Carson Schroeder (2), Thomas Tripp Wroblewski (1), Mason Vogelsang (1), and Boden Wagner (2). Brady McGuire stopped 12 of 13 shots in the win.

The 13O boys finished their tournament 2-1 with 6 points, behind the Reapers (3-0, 9 points), and ahead of the Jr Blues (1-2, 3 points) and Omaha Lancers (0-3, 0 points).

Team Wisconsin Boys 15O (2-1)

The 15O Team Wisconsin boys opened their tournament with a 5-1 over the St Louis Junior Blues. Grady Miller (SPASH), Everett Waltersdorf (USM), Mark Sutton (2, NHM), and Mack Diggins (ECM) had goals for Team Wisconsin. Julian Scalcucci (Wausau West) stopped 21 of 22 in the win.

The 15O boys beat Oakmoor Des Moise 6-0 on Saturday, outshooting them 37-9. They got goals from Jackson Marthaler (Superior), Mark Sutton (2), Grady Miller (2) and Everett Waltersdorf. Daniel Linn (River Falls) stopped all 9 shots he faced in the win.

They finished their tournament with a 6-1 loss to the Chicago Mission, in a game where shots were even 24 each. Owen Porter (Edgewood) netted the lone TW goal in the game. Julian Scalcucci stopped 18 of 24 in the loss for TW.

The 15O boys finished their tournament 2-1 with 6 points, behind the Mission (3-0, 9 points) and ahead of the Jr Blues (1-2, 3 points) and Oakmoor Des Moines (0-3, 0 points).

Team Wisconsin Boys 16U (1-2)

The 16U boys opened their tournament with a 4-0 loss to the Chicago Mission. The Mission led the shot total 42-35. Spencer Shober (Fond du Lac) stopped 38 of 42 shots in the loss.

The 16U boys rebounded from their loss to the Mission with a 7-0 win over the Omaha Lancers, outshooting them 42-17. TW got goals from Wyatt Ehrhardt (Middleton), Brayden Severin (Superior), Carter Drexler (SPASH), Gabe Braun (St Mary's Springs), Drew Heil (Notre Dame), and Easton Lindert (2 Oregon). Owen Nelson (Superior) stopped all 17 shots he faced in the win.

The 16U boys fell 4-0 in their final game of the tournament, to the St Louis Junior Blues. Shots were even in the game, but TW wasn't able to crack the net. Spencer Shober stopped 11 of 15 shots in the loss for TW.

The 16U boys finished 1-2 with 3 points, behind the Mission (3-0, 9 points), and Jr Blues (2-1, 6 points) and head of the Omaha Lancers (0-3, 0 points).

Team Wisconsin Boys 18U (2-1)

The 18U boys fell 3-2 to the Windy City Storm in overtime to open their tournament on Friday, outshooting the Storm 44-40. Quinn Smith (Madison West), and Drew Bowe (Chippewa Falls) scored for Team Wisconsin. Rowan White (Edgewood) stopped 37 of 40 shots in the loss.

The 18U boys beat Oakmoor Des Moines 2-1 in their second game of the tournament, outshooting them 31-23. Jackson Hoem (Chippewa Falls) and Riley Boyle lit the lamp for TW. Devin Rustle (Bay Port) stopped 22 of 23 shots in the win.

The 18U boys finished their tournament with a 5-1 over the St Louis Junior Blues, outshooting them 37-30. TW had goals by Mason Johnson (Chippewa Falls), Maxwell Bennett (Hudson, WI), Drew Bowe (Chippewa Falls), Will McDonald (Madison West) and Quinn Smith (Madison West). The scoresheet says that Rowan White (Edgewood) played all 60 minutes and stopped 29 of the 30 shots he faced, but it also says fellow TW goalie Devin Rustlie assisted on a goal so we'll try to get an answer on that. 

TW 18U finished 2-1 (the loss was in OT) earning 7 points, behind the Windy City Storm (3-0, 8 points) and ahead of the Junior Blues (1-2, 3 points) and Oakmoor Des Moines (0-3, 0 points).
