Wisconsin Selects play in Fond du Lac this weekend at the USA Hockey Central District championships. Wisconsin Selects are the defending Tier 2 U19 Central District champion and have qualified for USA Hockey Nationals six of the last seven years. They are currently the #5 ranked U19 Tier 2 team in the nation.

“All of us girls are excited to get back together. We are a strong team and I believe we are ready for Central Districts. We have talented girls at every position and great coaching. If we are fortunate enough to get back to Nationals, I believe we will have a good run. It’s an amazing, talented, and fun group of girls!” Addisyn Buesgen, 11th grade, Chippewa Falls HS (CFM Sabers).

“As a team, we have great confidence in both our goalies. Both are coming off fine winter seasons and are highly competitive. As a former goalie and their Selects goalie coach, I am excited to watch them play this spring.” Greg Slupe, Wisconsin Selects Goalie Coach.

“We encourage the Selects to strive to be leaders and top performers for their regular season teams. Five forwards were leading scorers for their high school teams, and three others were second. Reese Sheehan and Zowie Hunter were all-state centers & finalists for the Jinelle Siergiej Award. Winger Addy Milota has been the Selects top scorer the last two seasons. We are confident in our crew of seven able defenders headed up by Brooke Brennan and Kiera Ballweg. Sydney Magnuson was selected as one of two first team all-state goalies and a finalist for the Vetter Award. The Selects are looking forward to the upcoming challenge of Central District Playoffs.” Steve Kirley, Wisconsin Selects Assistant Coach.

Five Wisconsin Selects players are currently committed to playing college hockey.
