BROOKFIELD — It’s been five years since a Waukesha County boys hockey team skated into the state tournament.
The Kettle Moraine/Mukwonago/Oconomowoc co-op last reached the state tourney in 2014. It had been longer for the Brookfield Stars — they last appeared in 2012.
With the area drought set to end one way or another on Friday night at Eble Park Ice Arena, all that was to be decided was which squad would snap its decade-long streak.
