Edgewood took on Middleton in Sun Prairie on Friday night for a chance to go to state. They met once this season and Edgewood would beat Middleton 2-0.

The game saw a slow build-up to a significant scoring chance. It wasn't until just under 8 minutes remained in the first period that a blocked shot led to a Middleton 2-on-1 opportunity. Wyatt Ehrhardt gave a give-and-go pass, but his teammate struggled to fully control the puck and shot short side and Rowan White made the save. Edgewood would get a decent opportunity from Davis Halbleib. Halbleib intercepted a pass between two Middleton defensemen and shot but the Middleton defenseman deflected the shot. Middleton's Eberle faced 4 shots and saved all, while Rowan White stopped all 11 shots he faced as well.

At the start of the period, Middleton applied pressure on Edgewood in their defensive zone, creating several chances from both the point and in front of the net. Edgewood's Carter Rosenberg would change the momentum of the game. Rosenberg shot a puck from the corner along the goal line, found the far post, and went in. Following the goal, Middleton struggled to regain control. A failed clearance allowed Bennett Cagle to intercept the puck and passed it to Matt Richter who was striding towards the slot. Despite a Middleton defense man's attempt to close the shot down, Richter's shot past Eberle's blocker, extending Edgewood's lead to 2-0.
Around the 7-minute mark in the second, Middleton had an opportunity to bring themselves back into the game. A well-executed pass up the boards found Ehrhardt in another 2-on-1 situation.  Ehrhardt faked a backhand pass and deke's to his forehand and tried to shoot short side but White made a save. Another penalty was called, granting Edgewood a power play. A shot from Cagle at the point left the puck bouncing dangerously in front of the net, allowing Owen Barnet to capitalize and widen Edgewood's lead to 3-0. White would make saves on all of the 15 shots he saw in the period. Eberle would make 9 saves on 12 shots.
Middleton would get a chance to get themselves back in the game early in the third as a puck thrown to slot landed on a Middleton stick but they couldn't beat White as he made a save with the tip of his glove. Middletons Thomas Sutcliffe tried to take a shot at the top of the circle but whiffed. However, he stuck with the puck and found Charlie Jambor backdoor open. Middleton would finally see themselves get on the board around the 7 minutes remaining in the third. A penalty late in the third found Middleton another chance to close down the lead. Edgewood’s penalty killer did an excellent job breaking up passes and entries into the zone and killing off the penalty. Edgewood would score an empty netter with just one second ending Middleton's playoff run and would see themselves reach state again.

Ian Eberle would make 20 saves on 23 and would have a .870 save percent on the night. Eberle played great through the playoffs ending the run with a .946 save percentage. Rowan White stood on his head making important saves on major chances and only surrendered one goal. He made 41 saves on 42 shots to end the night with a .976 save percentage.
