The St Mary's Springs Ledgers, Neenah/Hortonville/Menasha Rockets, and Fond du Lac Cardinals came into the Badgerland Conference Tournament with identical 6-1 records after playing Rock-Paper-Scissors with each other all season.

The top-seed Ledgers beat the Cardinals but lost to the Rockets. The second-seed Rockets beat the Ledgers but lost to the Cardinals. The third-seed Cardinals beat the Rockets, but lost to the Ledgers.

It was the third-seed Cardinals and top-seed Ledgers that met for the Badgerland Conference tournament title on Saturday at the Fond du Lac Blueline Family Ice Center, and as they'd already done earlier this season the Ledgers played rock to the Cardinals scissors skating to a 5-0 win on the back of a dominating second period.

While the Ledgers outshot the Cardinals 9-7 in the first period, it was the Cardinals that had the most zone time. Unfortunately, while they did a good job of keeping the puck in the Ledger end, they couldn't get shots through to the net.

The Ledgers got on the board at the 8:18 mark of the period when Jaiden Miesner knocked in a rebound on an Isaac Sabel shot in front of a sprawling Spencer Shober to make it 1-0 Springs, and that is how the first period would end.

The Ledgers turned up the heat in the second period. Armani Fisher netted his first goal of the game on a one-time slapper from the slot. Fond du Lac was going for a breakout and the puck skipped off the wing's stick right to Fisher for the goal.

Miesner added his second goal just a few minutes later on the back-end-of a two-on-one with Gabe Braun. Braun slid the puck across to Miesner who put it in for the 3-0 lead.

Finally, with time winding down in the period Fisher added his second goal on a nice wrist shot from the right side faceoff circle on feed from Austin Westergaard across the ice.

The Ledgers and Fisher added their final goal at 1:38 of the third period, again on the power play, this time the five-on-three variety. With time and space, Fisher was able to pick his spot and hit it for the 5-0 lead and win.

Badgerland Conference Player of the Year Spenser Shober was very busy on the day, stopping 39 shots on 44 tries for the Cardinals. On the other end Brendan Gaertig stopped all 18 shots he faced for the Ledgers.
