This week four area high schools will be playing hockey at the Marathon Cup to support the Salvation Army’s Hockey Against Hunger campaign. Mosinee, DC Everest, Wausau West, and Wausau East Merrill United (EMU) will compete to raise food and monetary donations. At the Marathon Cup, Mosinee will play Thursday, 12/7 at 5:30 against EMU at Marathon Park. Wausau West will play DC Everest at 7:30pm on Thursday, also at Marathon Park.  The Cup comes to Mosinee for the Saturday championship games. The consolation game will be at 5:30 pm and the championship will be at 7:30 pm. At each game there will be labeled bins for non-perishable food donations. The team that collects the most food donations wins the traveling Marathon Cup trophy.  In addition to food donations there will be red kettles for monetary donations.

The Wausau Cyclones have donated the proceeds from their 50/50 raffle on 12/4 and the Mosinee Papermakers will donate their portion of the 50/50 sales from their first home game on Friday, 12/8. We will have the red kettle and food bins available for donations at this time too along with Mosinee Hockey Club youth games on Saturday! All monetary proceeds will be presented to the Salvation Army Major at the Saturday games.
