The Somerset Spartans out-shot the out-manned Antigo Red Robins 56 – 17 and out-scored them 8-3 on Friday afternoon in the second game of the Somerset Thanksgiving Tournament.

The Robins had some jump in there game early in each period. But Antigo was skating with two lines, while the Spartans were able to roll with four when they wanted.

Antigo scored first, just four minutes into the game. Owen Dickman dumped the puck into the Somerset zone, then went in and dug it out of the corner. Dickman passed the puck to the front of the net where Eli Kassler was standing all alone. Kassler had time to beat Somerset goalie Finn Davies and put the Robins up 1-0.

Somerset tied it up halfway through the first when Ryland Lathe threw the puck from the corner to the front of the net. Vincent Henton fought through the crowd to get the loose puck and put it behind Robin net-minder Nolan Bunnell.

Somerset went on top two and half minutes later when Devin Richardson passed the puck out from behind the net. The puck made it through all the traffic in front and out into the high slot. Malachy Driscoll dropped down from the blue line and shot it in.

The Spartans out-shot the Robins 18-2 in the first period.

Antigo tied things at two early in the second period Trenton Walbeck roofed a backhand shot from the low slot off a corner feed from Collin Tiedemann.

Somerset took the lead for good a couple minutes later on a two on one rush. Devin Rishardson scored the goal off a pass from Wyatt Connors.

Somerset would pad their lead in the second with three more goals from Micaiah Schuld, Blake Thiel, and Driscoll.

An Antigo goal by Dickman and two more by Somerset rounded out the scoring.
