DULUTH — The Superior High School boys hockey team shook off enough rust from a 10-day layoff to defeat Madison Edgewood 3-1 in the quarterfinals of the Duluth Marshall Hilltopper Holiday Classic Tuesday afternoon at Mars Lakeview Arena.
The Spartans, whose last game was a 10-0 victory over Wisconsin Rapids on Dec. 17, overcame a 1-0 deficit in the first period with two goals in the second period and an empty-net goal in the third to improve to 5-2-1 on the season.
