The Wisconsin Hockey Officials Committee has nominated Daniel T. Meagher for the 2023 WIAA Honorary Official.  The award will be presented this Friday.

Dan has officiated hockey since the 1970s.  He has been a WIAA official for 40 years, and just recently retired from officiating.  Dan has worked the WIAA state tournament and estimated 12 times, and has officiated a championship game.  He holds that championship game experience as his favorite memory.

Dan is a Chippewa Falls graduate, and played hockey since he was in 5th grade.  He said that he enjoyed working the games, and the camaraderie with the other officials.  Dan has a reputation for being a mentor of many officials in Northwest Wisconsin.  Dan is now retired and he and his wife Carol are spending their time traveling and seeing their two children:  Mitch and Mollie.
