The Fondy Springs ledgers were the favorites coming into their Sectional Final game against the Oregon Panthers. Little did many think it would come down to one goal .

And one goal only.

Andrew Jicha scored the only goal of the game with over a minute left in the second period, and Panther Goalie Nathan McAlpine made 38 stops in a 1-0 Panther win . The win sends Oregon to the State tournament where they face Mosinee on Thursday.

Springs and Oregon were scoreless after 1 period with shots 12-9 Springs. The second period shots were almost even . Except with over a minute left in the period the Panthers got a steal in the Ledger zone. Mason Anderson found Andrew Jicha in the high slot and he shot over the glove of ledger goalie Brendan Gaertig for the 1-0 Panther lead.

The Ledgers got to work in the third period and outshot Oregon 13-2 .Under a minute to go the Ledgers had a couple offensive zone draws but couldnt get one in the net and Oregon  moves on to State. The Panthers have never been there as a stand alone school. However they did go in 2000 as part of a coop with Mcfarland. Springs ends their season with a 15-9 record. Oregons McAlpine finished with 38 saves, while Gaertig for Springs had 23 saves.
