Panthers Stumble in Attempt to Balance Account with Ledgers

Dayne Deanovich and Talan Blanck Have a Dynamic Day

The first meeting between Oregon and St. Mary's Springs saw Dayne Deanovich score 3 goals in a 3-2 victory for the Ledgers on December 18th. The second meeting had a trip, as the Division 2 Sectional 4 Champion, to Madison on the line.

It didn't take long for Deanovich to attempt to start where he left off in the previous game. He scored 43 seconds into the game with an assist from Josh Austin. The Panthers answered back at 2:03, when Kyle Rohrer assisted on Andrew Jicha's goal to tie the game. Talan Blanck gave the Ledgers a 2-1 lead with an assist from Ian Sabel and Cullen King at 6:50 of the first. St. Mary's Springs increased their lead as Talan Blanck assisted on Dayne Deanovich's second goal of the game at 9:07. Oregon was on the power play, but it was Blanck assisting once again on a Deanovich goal at 11:03 of the first. Deanovich scored his fourth goal of the first period with Talan Blanck assisting once again at 12:13. The Ledgers led 5-1 at the end of one period.

The Ledgers scored their second short-handed goal of the game at 4:39 of the second period. Isaac Hyland assisted on Caden Blanck's goal. Josh Austin and Colin McMahon assisted on Dayne Deanovich's fifth goal of the afternoon to give St. Mary's Springs a 7-1 lead. Twenty-nine seconds later Kyle Rohrer scored for the Panthers with Andrew Jicha assisting get the game out of runtime. The Ledgers' Talan Blanck scored with Deanovich and Colin McMahon assisting at 11:48. The Panthers were able to stop runtime with Kyle Rohrer assisting on Andrew Jicha's goal to finish the scoring in the second period with 32 seconds on the clock. Ledgers led 8-3 at the end of two periods.

Talan Blanck scored twenty seconds into the third with an assist from Colin McMahon. Oregon cut the lead to five at 7:48 on a goal by Andrew Jicha with Ty Zurawik and Kyle Rohrer assisting. Josh Austin completed the scoring for the game with 4:45 remaining with Dayne Deanovich and Cullen McMahon assisting. The Ledgers won 10-4.
