The Warriors were looking to even their record Saturday night as they hosted the Silver Eagles from Monona Grove, a team which traditionally gave Waunakee trouble over the years. Tonight was not one of those nights.

At the friendly confines of The Ice Pond, the home team slapped 11 goals on the board, while only allowing one by MG, and appear to be ready to open Badger North conference play with some serious goal scoring momentum.

Leading the Warriors was senior captain Jason Ford who tallied three goals and three helpers, while younger brother, defenseman Keegan, notched two goals and two assists. The elder Ford opened the scoring barrage with a short-handed goal at the 8:12 mark of the 1st period. Junior defenseman Tyler Reynolds ripped a shot on goal from center ice that suprised the MG goalie to make it 2-0 before junior forward Blake Anderson made it 3-0 just 50 seconds later. Jason rounded out the first period scoring with his second of the night at 14:06.

In the second period it was more Warrior domination as both Fords found the back of the net before senior forward Ron Zaleski lit the lamp with a power play goal at 12:45. Senior goaltender Mitch Horras stopped all 13 MG shots in the first 34 minutes of play, pitching a shut out before being relieved by senior Nick Severson in the 3rd period.

Waunakee got more scoring in the third from seniors Austin Braska and Hunter Darger, junior Adam Carlson and Keegan Ford to make the final score 11-1 in front a raucus crowd on "T-Shirt Night."

Severson stopped 5 of 6 Silver Eagle scoring attempts in his one period of action.

The Warriors (3-3) open Badger North Conference play Monday as they "visit" the Deforest-Poynette-Lodi Norskis in a battle of Ice Pond rivals.
