Central Wisconsin Storm suffers overtime loss in state semifinals

The Central Wisconsin Storm girls hockey team’s bid for a state championship ended with an overtime loss in the semifinals Wednesday.

Madelyn Hebert’s power-play goal 5 minutes, 53 seconds into the overtime period gave Chippewa Falls/Menomonie a 4-3 victory over the Storm at Greenheck Field House.

The Sabers advance to Saturday’s state championship game against University School of Milwaukee co-op at South Wood County Rink in Wisconsin Rapids. University School, the No. 4 seed, advanced with a 1-0 victory over No. 1 seed Eau Claire North co-op in the other semifinal.
