Two small upsets, no huge surprises as regional semi-finals play out.

D1 - Section 1

Everest advances to play Hudson on Thursday at 7:15 pm. The Evergreens out shot the Oredockers 40-18 in the contest but still saw the game tied 1-1 after two periods before an 18-shot onslaught in the third period sealed the win.

West advances to play SPASH on Thursday at 7:00 pm. The Warriors out shot EMU 56-7 in the contest and went 3-for-5 on the power play. West has played SPASH twice this season, with 7-2 and 4-2 losses.

While the shot totals were fairly even (26-22), a bad first period sunk the Icemen as the Red Raiders scored two power play, and one short handed goal. Rapids will take on Chippewa Falls on Friday at 5:00 pm.

D1 - Section 2

United went 4-for-9 on the power play to erase an early 1-0 deficit and knock off the higher seeded Golden Beavers. United moves on to face Notre Dame Academy on Thursday at 7:45 pm.

Peyton Fountain led the way with four goals for the Ice Bears, as they advance to take on Bay Port on Thursday at 7:15. West Bend killed off all 6 of their penalties in a good display of special teams play.

In one previous meeting Bay Port beat West Bend 2-1, with West Bend holding a 30-25 shot advantage.

This is the second time this season that Fond du Lac has beaten Oshkosh 6-3. Two short handed goals scored 47 seconds apart in the second period sealed the deal for the Cardinals who advance to face Neenah/Hortonville/Menasha on Thursday at 7:00 pm.

Neenah won the previous meeting 4-2 back on Dec. 1.

D1 - Section 3

Scoresheet data hasn't been entered yet. Sun Prairie moves on to face Madison Edgewood on Thursday at 7:00 pm. The win was Sun Prairie's first in the WIAA portion of their season.

It was a high-flying game with RWD taking 41 shots against Middleton's 31, but RWD had a better time finding the back of the net and advance to take on Sauk Prairie on Thursday at 7:00 pm.

Sauk Prairie won the previous meeting 7-1.

Tomah/Sparta put a tidal wave of 56 shots on the Avalanche on their way to a 7-2 win. They advance to face Verona on Friday, at a time to be determined.

Verona and Tomah/Sparta have not met this season.

D1 - Section 4

Scoresheet data has not been entered yet. Janesville advances to face University School on Friday at 7:00 pm.

In their previous meeting University School won 8-2.

In one of the closest games of the day, WNS knocked off Milton 3-2. The Storm weathered 5 Milton power plays without allowing a goal to hold on to the win and advance to take on KMMO on Thursday at 7:00 pm.
