The Tomahawk Hatchet hockey team came close to its first victory of the season against Chequamegon on Tuesday, Jan. 19, but ultimately fell 3 to 4.

Head coach Chris Bembinster said the Hatchets held the lead at the end of the first period for the first time this season, but unfortunately fell behind 3 to 1 at the end of the second.

“We also won the third period 2-1, but that left us down 4-3 at the end of the game,” Bembinster stated. “We competed tonight; just small details keep haunting us.
