Zach Urdahl, Daniel Laatsch, and Robby Newton Set To Join the Badgers in 2021

The Badgers 2021 recruiting class of nine players was announced today, and it includes five players listed as Wisconsin born, including three that played in the WIAA.

Daniel Laatsch, a defenseman from Altoona, played his freshman year at the Regis/Altoona/McDonell co-op before spending his sophomore year at Notre Dame Academy where the Tritons lost in the state quarterfinals to Verona.

After two years of high school he went to Ann Arbor to play two seasons with the USNTDP on both the U17 and U18 teams. He's currently playing for the Sioux City Musketeers of the USHL.

Zach Urdahl, a forward from Eau Claire, spent three seasons with the Eau Claire North Huskies before spending his senior season with the Lincoln Stars of the USHL. He is currently playing for the Stars again this season. In his junior season the Huskies lost to Verona in the state quarterfinals.

Robby Newton spent all four years with the University School of Milwaukee Wildcats, and won a state championship his senior season (they beat Verona in the semifinals). After high school he played with the Janesville Jets before spending a split season with the Cedar Rapids RoughRiders and Sioux City Musketeers. This year he is in Sioux City.

Joining those three will be Jacob Martin from Eagle River and Noah Grannan from Germantown. Martin played for Gentry Academy in Minnesota before joining the USNTDP. Grannan played for the Junior Admirals program joining the USNTDP.
