Wisconsin Prep Hockey co-founder, and 2013 George Baumann Friends of Hockey Award recipient Michael Trzinski is stepping away from the site after 19 seasons.
"Trasher" founded the site for the 2001-2002 season with Bill "Bergler" Berg and has been Wisconsin Prep Hockey's editor-in-chief that entire run, with Bergler serving as publisher.
He saw the site through three different stats engines, three designs, and the inclusion of girls hockey to our little corner of the internet.
Most importantly, he got to cover his daughter Emily's four years of high school hockey.
Trasher brought a lot of passion and unpaid hours to his work here, and he will be missed.

It’s going to be very hard to do this without Trasher. To paraphrase Mr. Potter, “To most of our readers, Trasher IS Wisconsin Prep Hockey.” Somehow we will have to find a way to keep our stones rolling without Mick. Wait a minute, does that make me Keith?

Trasher and I met when my daughter was playing hockey. We met at the Wisconsin Rapids rink and I have had a great time working with Trasher (Michael). I am going to miss hearing him talk on our podcasts and seeing him at the rinks.

For most of my tenure with WiPH I have lived out-of-state in Minnesota, Ohio, and Kansas, so my role was primarily tech support, back-end work, and producing the podcast.
Other than my father, Trasher is the only WiPH staffer I've attended a non-State Tournament game with. Last season we traveled up to frozen Eagle River to see USM take on Northland Pines. We had a blast, and only lost a combined 3 fingers to frost bite.
Trasher has consistently logged more mileage than anybody on the team, and it shows by his (frankly staggering) lead in bylines.
