Grant earns MVP in D1 state tourney

Junior stops 60 of 61 shots to help Verona to title

Verona junior goalie Kaden Grant was voted the MVP of the D1 state tournament this weekend.

Grant stopped 30 shots in earning a 1-0 shutout in an exciting game with Chippewa Falls in the semis. On Saturday in the championship game, Grant made 30 saves in a 2-1 OT win over Notre Dame.

The Wildcat goalie led the tourney field in save percentage (.984), GAA (0.43), and shutouts with one.

WiPH staff and selected media members participated in the voting.
