WISCONSIN RAPIDS- With a goal lead after the first two periods, all the Wisconsin Rapids Hockey team needed to do was keep Sun Prairie out of the goal, and maybe add another.
But three unanswered goals later, the Raiders found themselves on the short end of the scoreboard as the Cardinals rallied in the third period for a 4-2 nonconference victory Saturday afternoon at the South Wood County Recreation Center.
Rapids (7-9-1 overall) held a 2-1 lead heading into the final 17 minutes of action, despite being out shot 41-6 through that point in the game.
“Both our goals were really nice,” Rapids coach Pat McDonald said. “Both were set up real nice by Carson (Gunderson), and executed by Cobe (Acker) and Jacob (Dekarske)."
