tight game from beginning to end

The Madison West Regents, for the second straight game, were not very hospitable to their guests. After blanking Beloit last week 6-0, conference foe Janesville came to Madison Ice Arena to try their game against the host Regents.

Let's just say their luck wasn't any better.

West used early minute goals in the first two periods and added
an empty netter with seconds left in the game for a 3-0 blanking
over Janesville.

Just over two minutes into the game the Regents grabbed the lead.
After a faceoff Aidan Baccus was able to get around a man and slide
the puck past Janesville goalie Jaicy Campbell for a 1-0 lead. The
Regents outshot Janesville 17-4 in the first period.

The second period had West getting a 2-0 lead on a Alex Duchemin
tally. After a shot from the right side left a rebound, he was able
to get the goal from the backside circle.

The visiting Bluebirds thought they got one goal back but the goal was disallowed due to a delayed penalty.

In the third period both teams had a couple chances but it wasn't until five seconds left in the game when Duchemin got a empty net goal for the victory.

The Regents have won 4 of 5 games in this most recent stretch.

West goalie Ian Hedican made 17 saves in the shutout, while Campbell had 35.

Duchemin also assisted on the Baccus first period goal, while Baccus also added an assist.

West is off until next Tuesday when the play rival Memorial, while Janesviile hosts Verona Thursday.
