Four-day event begins August 12

The Waupaca Expo Center will be the site of Hockey by Bauer’s first week-long summer camp, August 12-15.  The camp will run from 9am until 4pm Monday through Thursday and is open to mites through bantams.  Cost of the camp is an economical $159.

HbB was created in 2003 by then-Wausau East head hockey coach Dan Bauer. In its 17th season, HbB has grown to over 130 skaters for its six week Summer Development Program at Greenheck Fieldhouse.  Bauer, now head coach of the Wisconsin Valley Union, began HbB to provide players with a “pond hockey” experience that is driven by the small area games model.

“I still believe in the power of the pond and having fun as the primary ingredient to cultivating a passion for the game,” said Bauer.  “The value of low structure, pressure free games to build skill, hockey sense and confidence in players is well documented.  It is not for everybody, but we have found players that really enjoy our format and come back every year.”
