Janesville goalie Tony Kujava notched two shutouts and allowed only three goals in four contests as the Jets skated to a perfect 4-0 record and were crowned champions of the 2011 Combat Hockey/NAHL Showcase tournament held at the Schwan Super Rink in Blaine, Minnesota.
The Jets flew past the competition, grabbing a 2-0 win over Wenatchee on Wednesday as Kujava stopped 19 shots in the shutout. In Thursday's game, the Jets edged Kalamazoo 2-1 after scoring two goals early in the third and holding on for the victory.
On Friday, the Jets blanked Odessa 4-0 behind 27 saves by Kujava, a 2010 Player of the Year finalist. The final day of the tourney saw Janesville notch win number four as they beat Kenai River 4-2 and earned the title as determined by goal differential, as Fresno and Fairbanks also fashioned perfect marks.
