Former SPASH star could go as early as a Top 10 pick

As the 2019 NHL Entry Draft draws near, one familiar name to Wisconsin hockey fans is expected to be chosen by a National Hockey League team in the first few picks on June 21.

Steven Point's Cole Caufield might be diminutive in stature, but his talent is off the charts. Caufield is ranked highly by every scouting service and could hear his name called within the first ten picks as names are called at the Rogers Arena in Vancouver.

The 18-year-old right winger, most recently of the US National U18 team, stands only 5'7" and weighs 165 pounds but has been compared favorable to NHL stars similar in size such as Alex DeBrincat (Chicago) and Johnny Gaudreau (Calgary).

In the last two seasons while playing for the U17 and U18 national teams, Caufield has scored 204 goals and assisted on 87 more in 203 games.
