Day Two at the Minnesota NIT saw the TW Seniors taking on team Massachusetts. TW held Mass to 10 shots and the offense scored eight times in a 8-0 win Friday afternoon.
TW spent lots of time in the offensive zone and finally broke thru late in the period but scored twice in 33 seconds for a 2-0 lead after the first period. Dylan Fox scored first when he stole a puck in the offensive zone against the wall. and got off a shot from the left circle. Zach Welsch got the second one shortly after when there was a turnover in the Mass zone.
TW continued dictating play in the second period and pretty much put the game out of reach when Cayden Laurvick slapped home a puck from near the crease for a 3-0 TW lead. Jack Rhode and Dillon Fox once again scored for a 5-0 lead thru two periods.
TW was able to put up three more in the final period to close out the shutout. TW picked up 3 points in pool play and face Minnesota's Junior squad Saturday afternoon at 2:30.
The TW Junior team used a pair of Barrett Brooks goals and single goals from Max Savaloja and Riley Jelenik to hold off the Minnesota Juniors 4-3 late Friday night. TW outshot Minnesota 43-22. The TW Juniors now play North Dakota Saturday at 4:45 in their final pool play game
