Milligan leads Cap City to Victory with 5 points

Blackhawks are outshot 44-12

The last time Cap City played Viroqua, the final score was 1-0 with the Cougars scoring at 1:58 of the third period. Cap City was leaving nothing to chance in their playoff game and came out aggressive from the opening drop of the puck.

Cap City scored at 6:22 of the first period on a goal by Colleen Milligan with Amanda Bauer and Mack Rosin being credited with assists. Forty-six seconds later, Milligan rang the bell again with a power play goal assisted by Bauer and Zephryn Jager. The Cougars ended the period outshooting the Blackhawks 19-2 and claiming a 2-0 lead.

Mack Rosin scored an unassisted goal at 4:58 of the second to give Cap City a 3-0 lead. The next goal came with Viroqua having a 5-on-3 power play opportunity, but it was Collen Milligan scoring an unassisted shorthanded goal increasing the Cougars lead to 4 with 7:19 remaining in the second period. Cap City's Amanda Bauer scored at 14:04 of the period with Jager and Milligan assisting. Cap City led 5-0 at the end of 2.

Elizabeth Hansen completed the scoring for the evening with 3:47 showing on the clock. Zephryn Jager and Colleen Milligan assisted on the play.

Ivy Shonka finished the game with 38 saves for Viroqua. Cap City's Taylor Thornton finished the game with 9 saves in 45 minutes. The Cougars changed goaltenders with 6 minutes remaining. Madeline Rubrich came into the game and collected 3 saves.
