Tuesday night’s game could have gone one of two ways for the Baraboo/Portage boys hockey team.
The Thunderbirds could have wilted or they could have rallied. They did the latter, overcoming a 2-0 deficit to notch a come-from-behind 4-2 home Badger North Conference win over DeForest at Pierce Park Hockey Rink.
“We weren’t at full strength tonight, but they battled through and played very well through the second and third period,” Baraboo/Portage head coach Andy Waldvogel said. “They got back to what we needed to start the game with. Just a really strong finish. I’m really proud of the boys for sticking with it.
“Just a really strong team effort; team win. I look up and down (the roster) and I know we’ve got guys that kind of carry the torch for us, but everybody chipped in.”
