Ahern standing tall in goal for St. Mary's Springs

Senior has a .950 sv% and 1.12 GAA in first seven games

FOND DU LAC – The St. Mary’s Springs hockey team is off to a 5-1-1 start this season and one of the keys to the Ledgers’ success is the player in the pipes.

Senior goalkeeper Colin Ahern has stopped 151 of 159 shots through seven games, a .950 save percentage. He is allowing just 1.12 goals per game and already has two shutouts.

“We have a lot of talented youth on our roster and a lot of experience on the top end. We just mesh well,” said Ahern, an honorable mention all-Badgerland Conference selection a year ago. “We score a lot of goals and just try to keep the puck out of the net, which is my job.”
