The Rock County Fury brought the offense Thursday night.

Seven different players scored as the Fury (4-1-1) dismantled the Badger Lightning 9-0.

Rock County scored four goals in the first period, including two in the game’s first five minutes. They followed up the period with four more tallies in the second before leading scorer Maggy Henschler scored the lone goal of the final frame.

Zoie Steig led the way for the Fury with four points (2 goals, 2 assists). Henschler, Dani Heitsman and Anika Einbeck each added three points of their own.

While there were a lot of goals scored, Fury head coach Luke Steurer wants more focus from his team.

“We came out a bit slow the first two periods and were kind of sloppy with our puck control and breakouts, but the third period they picked it up and that was good to see,” said Steurer

Goaltender McKaylie Buescher made 11 saves for her third shutout of the season in just six games played.

“She works hard and she continues to get better,” Steurer said. “She’s really been focusing on the details this season.”

The Fury host the Fox Cities Stars Saturday.
