WiPH's Del Scanlon contacted WIAA Assistant Director Tom Shafranski regarding today's school closers.  Tom provided the following information.

"We're in contact and working with our member schools regarding the WIAA Hockey tournament and the State Swimming and Diving Meet.

Schools recognize their school closing and no practice rules were intended for weather related concerns.  These circumstances are different in that safe travel is not at the heart of this issue.

To this point, we sense no schools or teachers wish to see students put in the middle of this matter.  We have not had any hockey games postponed as of this time and the WIAA State Swimming and Diving Meet will not be postponed."
