GIRLS

Team Wisconsin 3, Northern Midwest 2

Anna Wilgren scored twice in the first two minutes of the second period and Abigail Stow added another three minutes later and that was enough for a 3-2 victory Sunday morning in the 3rd place game at Edina's Braemar Arena.

Northern Midwest scored twice late and tried for a third with an extra attacker but TW held on for the one-goal triumph.

Wilgren, Amanda Sergent, and Addie Young notched assists in the contest.

TW held a big shot edge, 44-24, with Rebecca Binder making 22 saves in the game for TW.

BOYS

Minnesota Juniors 2, TW Juniors 1

TW and MN played even through most of the game, and the teams were tied at one with just under four minutes left when MN got the game-winner with 3:31 left.

Minnesota scored in the second period and took that lead into the final stanza.

Jacob Dirks tied the game in the middle of the third, with an assist to Jack Gorniak to make it 1-1.

Garrett Worth deflated the TW crowd with his score with just under four minutes left.

MN held a narrow 31-29 shot edge. TW goalie Peter Genatempo stopped 29 shots in the game.

BOYS

Pittsburgh 5, Team Wisconsin 4

Pittsburgh scored two late goals and held on for a 5-4 victory Sunday morning in Pittsburgh.

After Pittsburgh scored early in the first, Braden LaPorte scored on the power play to tie the game in the middle of the period. Baily Aegerter had an assist on the play.

Pitt went ahead in the middle of the second and once again TW came back to tie it on another LaPorte goal, this time with Aegerter and Aslan Akervik notching assists.

Four minutes into the final, Pittsburgh went ahead again, making it 3-2.

LaPorte earned his hat trick with just over five minutes left to tie the game at three. Spencer Challe earned a helper on the score.

Pitt scored twice in a span of 1:33 to go ahead 5-3 with just over a minute left.

Aegerter scored with 36 seconds left for the final tally, with an assist to Steven Scheurer.

Shots were 35-33 in favor of TW, with Mitchell Hammes making 28 saves for TW.
