MADISON — The St. Mary's Springs hockey team talked at Friday's practice about starting games with intensity. The message stuck as the Ledgers scored 17 seconds into Saturday's game against Madison West.

Springs (16-3) scored within the first minute of each period. Eric Steffes in the first period, Tyler Grebe 38 seconds into the second period and Jacob Schultz 57 seconds into the third.

The trio each had six points — Schultz had four goals and two assists, while Steffes and Grebe each had three goals and three assists.

The other goal belonged to Matt Austin in the first period
