Ty Emberson did it all on the ice in 2016

Named Eau Claire male athlete of the year

By February, he had won a gold medal while serving as an assistant captain and shutdown defenseman for Team USA at the Youth Olympic Games. 

By March, he had come back to help Eau Claire Memorial makes to its seventh straight trip to state and was named the state’s defenseman of the year by Wisconsin Prep Hockey.  

By April, he had earned a spot on the USA Hockey National Team Development Program’s U17 team, a roster dedicated to 20 of the top high school-aged hockey players in the country.  

By June, he had committed to a school that is already anxious to have him on campus, the University of Wisconsin.

But perhaps the most impressive? By May, Ty Emberson had turned 16 years old.
