Warhawks impose their will early on visiting Cardinals

It only took about one minute for the red-hot Arrowhead boys hockey team to impose its will on visiting Sun Prairie on Tuesday night at the Mullett Ice Center.

Actually, it was 74 seconds to be exact.

The Warhawks struck early and often against the Cardinals, exploding for four goals in the first period and rolling to an impressive 5-0 victory over the visitors.

Arrowhead got into the power play just 62 seconds into the game, and 12 seconds later, senior Connor Akers found the back of the net to give his team a quick 1-0 lead. Patrick Berges and Ben Beversdorf assisted on that goal.

But that was only the beginning of a brilliant first period by the No. 8-ranked Warhawks. After the goal by Akers, Arrowhead put three more goals on the Cardinals to take a 4-0 lead after the opening period.

The Warhawks added one more goal in the second period and continued to dominate the time of possession in the final period despite not scoring.
