Mirek stops 47 in loss

Aggresiveness leads to victory

The Fox Cities Stars were entering the game after a heartbreaking 2-0 loss to the Bay Area Ice Bears and it would be interesting to see how they reacted on the ice.  The answer came quickly in the first period, when Madelynn Jablonski was sitting on the backdoor of the Lightning net to put the puck in at 1:54 of the first period.  Alli Mork and Lauryn Hull were credited with assists on the play.  The first period ended with the Stars leading 1-0.

Fox Cities increased their lead to two on a goal by Marin Kelly with Alaina Schauf assisting at 12:05 of the second period.  Both teams continued to bring the puck up and down the ice, but neither team could score.  Then Jablonski picked up her second goal of the evening with an assist from Kyra Jensen with 1:59 remaining in the period.  Nine seconds later the Stars scored the final goal of the night as Marin Kelly put the puck in with an assist from McKenzie Krieger.

Jaden Mirek finished the game with 47 saves for the Lakeshore Lightning, while Annaliese Mauel had 10 saves for the Stars.
