From the better late than never department

Hadley Malcolmson of the Brookfield Glacier and Hunter Schwehr from the Fox Cities Stars earned Radisson Madison Player of the Week honors in the extended first week of the high school hockey season.

Hadley Malcolmson, a forward for the Glacier, led the team in a Thanksgiving Tournament at the Mullet Center to kick off the new season. Malcolmson scored three goals and assisted on a fourth in an 8-5 win over Arrowhead on Friday night.

Hadley’s goal and assist weren’t enough in game two, as the Glacier fell 3-2 to the Lakeshore Lightning on Saturday morning. She came back with another hattrick and a helper in the Consolation game, a 6-2 win over WSFLGUS.

Hunter Schwehr, a senior and captain of the Fox Cities Stars, led the Stars to the Championship of the Sheboygan Tournament over the holiday weekend. Schwehr tallied one goal and an assist in the season-opening game, a 5-0 win over Ashwaubenon.

Hunter followed that up with a hattrick and playmaker in a second-round 8-2 victory over the WNS Storm. He finished the tournament off by scoring two goals and assisting on three others in the 9-1 Championship game win over host Sheboygan.
