One year ago, the Appleton boys hockey team had a banner season, winning the WIAA state championship.
However, all of that success didn't matter much on Dec. 3 to host Arrowhead. The Warhawks turned in a solid performance and blanked the United by a 3-0 score.
"This was a good, quality win for us," said AHS coach Carl Valimont. "We were a little shorthanded but a lot of guys stepped up and played well. They won the state championship last year. We played well, but we still have a lot of work to do."
