Last year the Warbirds had to go into overtime to claim a 1-0 victory over the Eagles.  The first period was a battle that looked like it would end with the game still knotted at zero.  However, Fond du Lac was able to find the back of the net with 0:0.1 on the clock to take a 1-0 lead.  Mary Skorupa scored the goal with an assist from Kylee Dyni.  The Warbirds' Rebecca Binder stopped all 5 shots she saw in the period, while Piper Snedden had 5 saves for the Eagles.

Fond du Lac extended their lead to 2 at 7:09 of the second period as Kylee Dyni brought the puck into the offensive zone.  Dyni pushed the puck over to Hattie Verstagen. Verstagen skated towards the high slot and passed the puck to Amber Lemmenes.  Lemmenes beat Snedden with a shot that tipped off of the goalie glove into the net.  The Eagles reduced the deficit to one, when Anna Hartwig picked up a loose puck in neutral ice and passed the puck to Amanda Sergent.  Sergent skated down the boards and fired the puck past Binder to score a short-handed goal.  Morgan Brown boosted the Warbirds lead back to two with an unassisted goal from the high slot with 18 seconds remaining in the second.  Snedden picked up another 11 saves compared to 8 for Binder.

The third period found Fond du Lac putting the game away.  They scored their fourth goal of the game 1:16 into the period as Brown picked up her second goal with an assist from Callie Tighe.  Drew Deanovich increased the lead to four with a goal with 4:05 remaining in the period.  Verstagen and Tighe assisted on the play.  Callie Tighe closed out the scoring at 14:14 of the third with Verstagen assisting on the play.  Binder had 12 saves and finished the game with 25, while Snedden had 11 and a game total of 27.
