Former Onalaska star transfers from Union College

Before her senior season with the Onalaska High School co-op girls hockey team, Jacyn Reeves was approached by her coach, Tim Franzini.

Franzini had a proposition for her, a challenge.

“We moved her back to defense,” he said.

But that didn’t surprise Reeves, nor did she mind.

“I feel very comfortable playing both positions,” Reeves said, “and I’ll do anything for the team, wherever they need me. I still skated up quite a bit on defense and I still got those rush opportunities, but defense was so great for me because I can see the plays develop and see the whole ice.”

Laughing, she added: “I played everywhere in high school.”

Reeves is no stranger to change, which is a good thing as after one year at Union College (N.Y.) she will be taking her skates to Ohio, as in Ohio State University. More on that in a minute.
