miscues lead to loss

The TW juniors got a little too generous on Saturday afternoon.
A couple of miscues led to NoDak goals and they won 4-2 over
TW.

It looked at times that the intensity and focus were not there.

NoDak scored first with just under 11 minutes left in the first.
TW goalie Anthony Howard went back behind the net to play the
puck and mishandled it. NoDak forward Eric Pladsen came on the fore
check and scooped up the puck and did a wrap around for the unassisted goal.

TW did even the game though on the power play. With pressure low in the NoDak zone the puck squirted out to Nick Techel who chipped it past the goalie for a tie at 1.

NoDak responded with their own power play tally. On the rush up ice, NoDak forward Braden Costello got to the left faceoff dot and blew a puck past Howard for the final tally of the first period, which saw TW outshoot NoDak 17-9.

TW bounced back to tie the game in the first minute of the second period when Grant Reichenbacher's backhanded shot made it 2-2.

NoDak was able to break the tie for good in the period when TW turned the puck over deep in their zone. It was Braden Costello again getting the goal.

TW worked extremely hard to try to get the tie in the third but couldn't score.

NoDak got a goal early in the third from Tony Haley which was too much to overcome for TW and NoDak got the 4-2 win. Final shots were 36-22, TW.

For the final day, Sunday, TW will play Massachusetts at 8am.
