TW seniors missed chance result in shutout to Minnesota

The Wisconsin Seniors and Minnesota Seniors met on Friday in a
border battle at the Minnesota NIT Showcase. Minnesota came in
after shutting out North Dakota Thursday while TW fresh off a
romp over Team Masachussetts 10-1.

Should've put some of the goals in the bank and saved them for another day.

Minnesota goalie Brady Meyers needed to make 21 saves in a 5-0 win over TW.

Minnesota foiled a couple Wisconsin breakaways early and finally scored themselves.
Mineesota scored their first goal from Tyler Rock, whose shot from the midslot
went 5 hole on TW goalie Tommy Mohs. 27 seconds later they were able to slip
one past Mohs again for the 2-0 deficit. Jack Johnson scored that one.

TW was outshot 16-6 in the first period.

Period two saw Minnesota come with a suffocating defense and forecheck. They tacked
up their third goal after not being able to clear the zone. Brendan Skarda finally
scored.

TW trailed 3-0 into the third period but any chances of a comeback were dashed
as once again Minnesota had TW stuck in their zone and Nolan Sawchuk was able
to score on the extended shift for Minnesota. The scoring was finished off with
just over 2 minutes left TW was worn down and Minnesota finished again for the 5-0
win. Shots were 38-21 Minnesota. TW Seniors play the Michigan Juniors team Saturday
at 10 am.
